Bootylicious aims for 4 in a row SVREL Anniversary Trophy

With three consecutive wins under her belt, the Peter-John-conditioned Bootylicious is poised to extend her winning streak in the $1.75-million SVREL Eighth Anniversary Trophy feature over five and a half furlongs (1,100m) at Caymanas Park today.
This talented Key to Power — Keep the Faith offspring has been dominating the track, solidifying her position as one of Jamaica’s top sprinters at the moment. Her last outing on February 9 was a 58.2-second victory in the Reggae Month Trophy over five furlongs (1,000m) straight.
With a proven track record over this distance, Bootylicious is primed for success. She has already shown her prowess over the five and a half furlong (1,100m), having won on December 24, in 1:05.4 minutes.
Despite carrying the top weight of 57.0kg (126 lb), Bootylicious is expected to use her speed to secure an uncontested lead and make it four wins in a row. Her connections are confident that she can overcome the weight disadvantage and prove her class once again.
The competition will be fierce, but Bootylicious has the talent, form, and momentum to make her the one to beat in today’s feature event.
The three-year-old and upward Graded Stakes/Open Allowance contest is positioned as the seventh race with a post time of 4:15 pm, with the first race at 12:15 pm.
Among the six-horse field, California Crown stands out as the most credible challenger to Bootylicious. This talented runner has shown impressive form in recent outings and may be the only one capable of denying Bootylicious her fourth consecutive victory.
Following a two-race winning streak, California Crown finished third in the Chairman’s Trophy over seven and a half furlongs (1,500m) on February 22. Although he wasn’t favoured to win, he performed admirably, finishing seven and a half lengths behind Barnaby and Atomica. With a previous victory over this distance in 1:05.4, California Crown has a strong chance of challenging Bootylicious.
The remaining contenders – Inspire Force, Digital One, Laban, and Atlantic Convoy — face an uphill battle.
