Brentford seek elusive home win against Aston Villa in EPL action

Brentford will host Aston Villa tomorrow as they look to earn their first home win of 2025, then on Sunday the Gunners will travel to the “Theatre of Dreams” to face Man United, hoping to get their title dreams back on track with a victory.

Event # 1 – EPL – Brentford vs Aston Villa – 12:30 PM

Forget the football match of two halves cliché, Brentford are experiencing a season of two halves. The Bees, Brentford, were formerly excellent at home and woeful away from home, now Brentford have since seen their home form wane while they have excelled on the road. Indeed, Brentford have had a week to reflect on their 1-1 draw at home to the rejuvenated Everton last weekend, as they were 15 minutes away from registering their first home win of 2025. However, a late Everton goal prolonged Brentford’s painful wait for a home win since the turn of the year; not since December 7 have Brentford won a match at home, losing five and drawing two of their last seven home games, while incredibly winning all four of their Premier League away games. The Bees will be hoping that Aston Villa’s playing away in Champions League action in midweek, with less time to recover, will aid them in their bid for a home win.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa produced a masterclass in Belgium in midweek, beating Club Brugge 3-1 in their round-of-16 Champions League two-legged tie to basically have one foot in the quarter-finals. With that said, fans of both teams might be in for a treat as Aston Villa have both scored and conceded in 20 separate Premier League games this season, more than any other team, and Brentford have been conceding goals at home for fun. However, Aston Villa have been horrible on their travels, having been hammered 4-1 by Crystal Palace in their last league game ahead of this one, meaning they have won just one of their last seven away matches in the league.

Key Stats

• Brentford – Brentford have scored the most home goals in the Premier League so far this season.

• Aston Villa – Only the current relegation candidates, Wolves, Leicester, and Southampton have conceded more away goals in the League than Aston Villa’s total of 27.

• Both sides – Brentford are winless in their last six home matches, having previously won seven of their first eight, while Aston Villa have picked up just four points from a possible 27 on the road.

The betting Tip. Draw and both teams to score.

Event # EPL – Man United vs Arsenal – 11:30 AM

Manchester United and Arsenal are set to clash in a highly anticipated Premier League showdown on Sunday at Old Trafford. The eagerly anticipated clash promises to be a thrilling encounter between two of England’s most storied clubs, and with Arsenal sitting in second and Manchester United struggling in 14th, this game could have significant implications for both team’s aspiration this season. Indeed, Manchester United have endured a horrible season so far, thus finding themselves in an uncharacteristic 14th place. Their record of just nine wins, six draws, and 12 defeats paints the painful picture of inconsistency that has plagued them throughout the season. Worryingly, Man United’s home form has been particularly concerning, with seven defeats in 14 matches at the famed Old Trafford, their vulnerability at what was once considered a fortress will undoubtedly be of concern to the United fan base. United did win their last home match 3-2 against Ipswich Town, potentially providing a much-needed confidence boost heading into this tough clash.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will be aiming to keep their fading title hopes alive when they head to the Theatre Of Dreams, and they might be confident of adding to United’s miserable campaign so far, having mauled PSV Eindhoven 7-1 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at home in midweek. However, in the Premier League, they have struggled in their last two matches, firstly, losing at home to West Ham, then they drew with Nottingham Forest, allowing leaders Liverpool to stretch their lead to 13 points, having played a game more than them, with 11 games to go. For the Gunners, Arsenal, a win against struggling Man United is necessary for their title hopes to remain intact heading into the final stretch of the campaign. Unfortunately for their fans, Arsenal has several key players that will miss this clash as well, Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel Jesus.

Key Stats

• Man United– Man United won the most recent clash between both sides after playing to a 1-1 draw, they prevailed 5-3 on penalties.

• Arsenal – last season Arsenal won both games against Man United (3-1 at home and 0-1 away).

• Both sides – Manchester United have had the upper hand at home in this recent fixture, winning three of the last four clashes at Old Trafford.

The betting Tip. Draw.
