Chery Tiggo stops Farm Fresh to reach PVL quarterfinals

MANILA, Philippines — Chery Tiggo had all its engines in tuned to survive a determined Farm Fresh side, 29-27, 15-25, 25-22, 25-21, in the play-in round of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Tuesday.
Chery Tiggo held a 2-1 set advantage, but Farm Fresh showed determination in the fourth frame after tying the match at 16-all.
Ara Galang propelled the Crossovers to a three-point advantage, 19-16, but Foxies' veteran Rachel Daquis tried to lift her squad after cutting the lead to one, 19-18.
Chery Tiggo pulled a 4-2 run courtesy of Seth Rodriguez and Shaya Adorador's attacks, 23-20.
Adorador served as the closer of the team as after she committed an attack error, she made up back-to-back points via a block and a through the block hit, 25-21.
Galang led Chery Tiggo with 20 points on 16 attacks, three blocks, and an ace.
Adorador made 18 markers, while Robles fired 13 points.
The Crossovers outscored the Foxies in the service department, 10-5.
On Farm Fresh's side, four of them scored in double digits as Trisha Tubu made 22 points, while Jolina Dela Cruz, Rizza Cruz, and Lorene Toring all had identical 12 points.
The Crossovers will be facing No. 1 team Creamline in the best-of-three quarterfinals.
