Choco Mucho makes quick work of Chery to take 5th seed

MANILA, Philippines — Choco Mucho fended off Chery Tiggo via sweep, 25-18, 25-23, 26-24, to gain a much-needed momentum in the qualification round of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference at City Paasi Arena in Iloilo on Saturday.
Choco Mucho seated at fifth with an 8-3 win-loss card.
Despite sharing the same scorecard with No. 3 Cignal and No. 4 PLDT, Choco Mucho has a lower set ratio point (Cignal-28, PLDT-23, Choco Mucho-20).
Chery Tiggo tried to snatch the third frame after tying the game at 17-all.
However, the Flying Titans pulled a 5-0 run courtesy of Sisi Rondina hammering fiery kills for a comfortable 22-17 lead.
Ces Robles made back-to-back runs for Chery Tiggo to stay at pace but Royse Tubino unleashed a crosscourt hit to help Choco Mucho inch closer to a match point advantage, 23-19.
Chery Tiggo showed signs of life and was unfazed by the pressure after joining all their forces to equalize the score at 24-all.
The Flying Titans said enough as Rondina flew higher and Dindin Santiago-Manabat smashed a kill to send the purple squad to another victory, 26-24.
Isa Molde made a double-double performance of 15 points on 13 attacks, a block, and an ace, along with 15 excellent digs.
Choco Mucho will face Chery Tiggo (5-6) in the qualification round.
