Disciplinary actions taken by the JRC

The Stewards have announced the following disciplinary actions arising from inquiries held at the offices of the Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC), 8 Winchester Road, Kingston 10, on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
Jockey JEROME INNIS, who rode EL AFORTUNADO in the tenth (10th) race on Sunday, February 9, 2025, was fined Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) for the intimidation and interference his mount caused to
BRINKS approaching the 400-metre point of the race, which resulted in the disqualifictaion of EL AFORTUNADO.
Jockey TREVOR SIMPSON, who rode NEPHEW in the eighth (8th) race on Sunday, February 23, 2025, was suspended for two (2) race days and fined Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) for the intimidation and interference his mount caused to GIRVANO in the final 200 metres of the race, which resulted in the disqualifictaion of NEPHEW. The suspension will take effect on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
Jockey EVERTTE CLUNIS, who rode HOTBRED SCAMMER in the seventh (7th) race on Sunday, February 23, 2025, was cautioned for the intimidation and interference his mount caused to QUEEN OF SOUL in the vicinity of the 400-metre point.
Jockey ROMANE GORDON, who rode NINA DORADA in the fifth (5th) race on Saturday, February 22, 2025, had his explanation accepted for the intimidation and interference his mount caused to
JAXON at the start of the race.
