Eya Laure champions PH men's volleyball

(UPDATE) WITH her PVL career on pause, former Chery Tiggo Crossovers spiker Eya Laure said that save for training with the Alas Pilipinas women's program, she busies herself championing Philippine men's volleyball, particularly the national team.
Laure was even introduced as one of the two ambassadors for the Philippine hosting of the FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship at The Vault inside the W Global Center in Bonifacio Global City on Tuesday.
Alas men's ace spiker Bryan Bagunas is the other ambassador for the world showpiece.
"Of course, it's such an honor to be promoting the Men's World Volleyball Championship," said Laure in an interview with reporters.
"It means it's truly the best of the best, so I was really happy when I found out. And of course, I'll also have the opportunity, like everyone else, to watch world-class men's volleyball here in the Philippines."
The Worlds will run from Sept. 12 to 28 with the Smart Araneta Coliseum and the Mall of Asia Arena serving as the venues of the international tourney.
Laure, who last saw action during the first conference of the 2024 PVL season, hopes that men's volleyball also draws the same fan support as what's been given to the women's side.
"I also want to encourage people to support not just women's volleyball, but men's volleyball, too, because men's volleyball really has a lot to offer," said Laure.
"I hope that every Filipino, just like how we supported the women's volleyball team, will show even more love and support for the men's volleyball team during this world championship. I know they've prepared a lot — training camps, leagues, and everything in preparation for this tournament. I hope all their hard work and sacrifices will be rewarded by us supporting and watching them."
