Here are the new TV, radio broadcast teams for Detroit Tigers games in 2025

The Detroit Tigers announced some changes to their TV and radio broadcast teams for the 2025 season.

Television broadcasts

Jason Benetti is back as the team’s primary TV play-by-play guy, with radio voice Dan Dickerson backing him up.

Benetti was masterful in his first year with the Tigers, perfectly capturing the magnitude of the team’s 31-11 dash to the playoffs. His multi-sport duties sometimes clash with the Tigers' schedule, which is why Dickerson gets several games on TV, especially later in the season once college football begins.

Perhaps the biggest change is the introduction of former Tigers outfielder Andy Dirks as one of two primary analysts, along with former Tigers pitcher Dan Petry.

Petry has been in the rotation of TV analysts for a few years now, but Dirks comes over from the radio side, where he spent most of last year sharing duties with Bobby Scales alongside Dickerson.

Among fans, Dirks is a popular choice to join Benetti.

Daniella Bruce is the TV sideline reporter, along with “another reporter to be hired in the near future.” The Tigers included a link to the job posting for that second reporter role.

It’s unclear if longtime Tigers sideline personalities Johnny Kane or Trevor Thompson will fill that role. Fans on social media have certainly noticed their exclusion from the announcement.

Fans can watch the Tigers on FanDuel Sports Detroit, formerly Bally Sports Detroit.

Radio broadcasts

The changes on the radio are less drastic.

Dickerson, of course, is back as the primary play-by-play voice, with Greg Gania filling in when Dickerson has to move to TV.

Scales is back as one of the main analysts, along with Petry, who has primarily been on TV in the past.

Dirks is listed as a “contributing analyst” who will appear “less frequently” on the radio.

Tigers radio broadcasts are on 97.1 The Ticket.

Spanish radio broadcasts

Carlos Guillen (no, not that Carlos Guillen) is back as the Tigers' play-by-play voice for Spanish radio broadcasts.

Barbaro Garby will be the analyst.

Most importantly, the Tigers announced that a Spanish language radio broadcast will be available for all home games -- up from 45 games in 2024.

“This is a vital product for the club to offer as we provide high-quality content to Spanish-speaking Tigers fans in Michigan and around the world,” the release says.

The Spanish radio broadcasts air on 1270 AM in Detroit, as well as on the Audacy and MLB apps.
