Junior Altas clinch 1st win in NCAA Season 100

University of Perpetual Help defeated Mapua Malayan, 86-80, to open their campaign in the NCAA Season 100 juniors basketball tournament with a victory at the FilOil EcoOil Center in San Juan City on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025.
In a near double-double performance, the 6-foot-7 Lebron Jhames Daep collected 20 points, 9 boards, 3 assists, 3 blocks and a steal to carry Las Piñas City-based team to victory.
Daep made most of his damage to the other team in the second half as the players of coach Joph Cleopas had a slow start that allowed Mapua to control the game in the opening half.
Jan Roluna added 18 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, 4 steals and a block and Icee Callangan chipped in 11 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists and a steal for the Junior Altas.
Mapua Malayan tried to rally in the endgame as Noah Banal's triple cut Perpetual Help's lead down to four, 84-80, but Junior Altas put up a solid defense down the stretch to secure the win.
