Kevin Quiambao posts double-double in Goyang win

MANILA, Philippines — Filipino import Kevin Quiambao continued his stellar showing at the 2025 Korean Basketball League (KBL) season.
After dishing a career-best 18 assists in a 95-85 win over KCC last Wednesday, Quiambao pumped 31 points and 11 rebounds to power the Goyang Sono Skygunners to a 92-82 overtime victory over Wonju DB Promy at the Wonju Gymnasium on Saturday.
Quiambao shot 9-of-15 from the field including 4-of-10 from the 3-point area to breach the 30-point mark for the second time in his professional career.
The two-time UAAP MVP first shattered the 30-point mark when he amassed a career-high 36 points in an 86-82 win also against Wonju on February 2.
Quiambao's latest performance improved Goyang's record to 14 wins and 26 losses, ninth in the 10-team league.
Through nine games, the 6-foot-5 Quiambao registered 18.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 5.0 assists.
The La Salle ace scored in double digits in all those games save for his pro debut where he scored six as his first game was cut short due to an ankle injury on January 12.
Quiambao and the Skygunners were set to battle Daegu KOGAS Pegasus on Sunday with another Filipino import SJ Belangel leading the fifth seed, 21-18 Daegu team.
