La Salle's Mikole Reyes starting to find form in UAAP women's volley 

MANILA, Philippines — Five games into the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball, La Salle rookie setter Mikole Reyes said she's starting to get used to the tournament's level of play and that she's beginning to find her rhythm.

Reyes, younger sister of former La Salle star middle blocker Mika, unleashed her best game yet as she tossed 23 excellent sets for the Lady Spikers, who defeated the UE Lady Warriors, 25-12, 23-25, 25-14, 25-17, at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.

La Salle improved to 3-2 for third place while UE dropped to 0-6 to stay at the bottom.

"Yes, little by little, I feel like I'm getting the hang of it with each game, especially with the help of my ates, they really support me. They also catch me when my game is off," said Reyes, a product of the De La Salle Zobel program.

The 20-year-old Reyes acknowledged that her lapses but expressed confidence that she can still improve with each game ahead.

"Of course, I'm still confident that I have more to show. In this game, you can still see some of my mistakes as a setter, but I just trust myself and my teammates to keep my progress going."

As she tries to further improve, Reyes will be tested when she and the Lady Spikers face rivals Ateneo Blue Eagles and the rookie playmaker looks forward to it.

"Of course (I'm excited), it's also my dream (to play in an Ateneo-La Salle game), and preparation is key, just like they said. We really need to work on our mistakes, and like Ate Jyne said, we still have things to polish."
