Lady Bulldogs bark to 4-0 start, keep Warriors winless
MANILA, Philippines — The defending champs NU Lady Bulldogs barked to a perfect 4-0 start in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament after keeping the UE Lady Warriors winless, 25-12, 25-11, 25-20, at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.
Reigning MVP Bella Belen pumped 18 points, eight digs, and six receptions for the league-leading NU, which dominated UE in the first two sets before doing just enough to hold off the latter in the last set.
Vange Alinsug likewise played stellar on both ends with 10 markers and 10 digs on top of four receptions while Alyssa Solomon chipped in six points.
Khy Cepada notched seven points for the cellar-dwelling UE which dropped to 0-4.
