A Fort Worth, Texas native, Miller first made a name for himself playing basketball for Arkansas in college.
He took the Razorbacks to three consecutive SEC regular season and tournament titles and participated in the 1990 Final Four.
Miller was a big, strong player, coming in at 6-foot-9 and weighing 280 pounds at one point.
During his career, he averaged 7.4 points and 5.9 rebounds on 53.4 percent from the field.
After the year 2000, Miller left the NBA and played around the world in Poland, Puerto Rico, and China.
He also performed for US-based leagues for four years and then came back for a final stint with the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2003-04.
During his last season in the NBA, he averaged 2.5 points and 2.7 rebounds.
After retiring, Miller suffered a few legal problems and received several nasty headlines because of his off-court choices.
It was reported that Miller spent his final years living in Phoenix and enjoying time with his family.
At the peak of his powers, Miller was a tough and proven big man and he helped out a number of teams during the 90s.
He was just 54 years old.
