Perfect Brew, Further and Beyond, Neo Star top contenders for International Women’s Day Trophy

The $1.25-million International Women’s Day Trophy has attracted a field of 10 horses, all vying for the top prize in the Overnight Allowance contest. The three-year-olds and upward will compete over 9 furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m) at Caymanas Park tomorrow.
Here’s a closer look at each contender:
1. POSITIVE ID: (7 b h by Bern Identity – Bubble Gal Bubble) – Struggles to find form, and a tongue-tie is added in an attempt to improve his performance. However, it’s unlikely to make a significant difference.
2. MONEY MISER: (5 ch h by Soul Warrior – She’s Traditional) – A capable horse, but has been underperforming lately. He’ll need to regain his form to be competitive in this field which is unlikely.
3. GEOLITHIC (USA): (5 b m by Neolithic – Queen G) – Unlikely to make an impact in this contest,
Geolithic will face significant competition from more established horses.
4. MR SENATOR: (5 rn h by Natural Selection – Khadiliah) – Will appreciate the galloping course, but a win seems unlikely. Mr Senator has shown promise, but this field may be too strong.
5. PERFECT BREW: (6 b g by Bern Identity – Moonlight Brew)
– Takes a drop in grade and has a good chance of winning, given the distance is not an issue. Blinkers are removed, which may help Perfect Brew focus and deliver a stronger performance.
6. EAZY PEAZY: (5 b h by Casual Trick – Baby P) – Faces significant competition and is unlikely to win.
7. SONNY T AND CHIPPY: (6 b h by Savoy Stomp – Trinket Box) – May secure a minor placing, but winning seems out of reach.
8. WHIZZ KIDD: (5 b h by Northern Giant – Maken Joy) – Can be safely bypassed.
9. FURTHER AND BEYOND: (7 ch h by Blue Pepsi Lodge – Rumble) – Although past his prime,
Further and Beyond continues to show promise. His current form and running style make him a strong contender, and he could lead home rivals with a strong performance.
10. NEO STAR: (6 b h by Neolithic – Angel Dreams) – Has finished second in his two starts this season. Neo Star was beaten into second place by 1 ½ by Mamma Mia on February 8 over 7 furlongs (1,400m). With Mamma Mia not here, Neo Star is tipped to go one better and secure the top prize.
