Perpetual Help retains top spot in NCAA juniors basketball

Icee Callangan made four important free throws in the last 34.9 seconds of the game to give University of Perpetual Help an 85-78 victory over Jose Rizal University in the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Season 100 juniors basketball tournament at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan on Wednesday.
His gift shots helped preserve the win for Junior Altas, who remained on top of the team standings with a 5-win, 1-loss record.
Four players of Perpetual Help coach Joph Cleopas finished with double figures in scoring led by Lebron Jhames Daep who collected 15 points and eight rebounds, and JD Pagulayan who added 13 points, 3 boards and 3 assists.
Lee Marin led JRU with 24 points, 2 boards and 3 steals.
The Junior Bombers dropped to 2-4.
