PLDT joins Creamline, Petro Gazz in AVC Women's Champions League

MANILA, Philippines — The Asian Volleyball Confederation has awarded the Philippines a third slot in the inaugural AVC Women's Champions League.

With this, the PLDT High Speed Hitters are set to join the country's delegation in the prestigious tournament.

"Happy naman na masama kasi higher level of competition. Maraming matututunan at makukuhang experience," said High Speed Hitters head coach Rald Ricafort.

The competition is scheduled to run from April 20 to 27, 2025, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

The High Speed Hitters received the allocation after finishing fourth in the PVL All-Filipino Conference, where they advanced to the quarterfinals.

They will join the Creamline Cool Smashers and the Petro Gazz Angels as the country's representatives.

"We'll do our best to represent PLDT and our country lalo na na tayo ang host," added Ricafort.

Also confirmed for the tournament are Thailand's Nakhon Ratchasima QminC and Vietnam's VTV Bình Điền Long An.

The drawing of lots to determine match schedules and groupings will take place on Wednesday. TMT
