The Best Early Black Friday Tech Deals at Amazon, Best Buy, and More

It’s not even Thanksgiving week, and still, Black Friday deals are already popping up all over the internet. If you’ve been patiently holding off, there’s no longer any need to wait until you’re stuffed with turkey to start shopping.

Across Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and more, some of my favorite tech gadgets are already seeing price cuts. Granted, some of these are designed to fool you with fake markups, which is why it’s important to track an item’s price history before going in on something that looks too good to be true. Luckily, I’ve already done all of the work for you. From now into December, keep checking in here for the best deals on laptops, TVs, Apple devices, tablets, video games, and more.

The Best Black Friday laptop deals

If you’re like my in-laws, there’s a good chance you’re reading this list on a laptop that needs replacing. It’s a good thing that laptops are no stranger to Black Friday deals, across PC and Mac alike.

  • Apple MacBook Air 13-inch with M3 Chip: $844 at Amazon (was $1,099). This is Apple’s most recent MacBook Air, complete with the M3 chip, a base 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. That’s more than enough for most people.

  • Apple MacBook Air 13-inch with M2 Chip: $749 at Amazon (was $999). If you’re OK going with a slightly older model, the M2 MacBook Air with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is just a little cheaper than the M3 model right now.

  • Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch with M4 Chip: $1,399 at Amazon (was $1,499). Apple’s most recent, M4 chip is also on sale for Black Friday, and this MacBook Pro supplements it with a 14-inch display, up to 24GB of memory, and up to 1TB of storage. Note that a base M4 chip might actually be weaker than an M3 Pro chip, depending on what you’re using it for.

  • Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch with M4 Pro Chip: $2,199 at Amazon (was $2,499). This is a great middle-ground for the MacBook Pro, with the M4 Pro chip, up to 48GB of memory, 512GB of storage, and a 16-inch screen.

  • Dell Inspiron 16-inch with Intel Core Ultra 7: $999 at Best Buy (was $1,499). This 2-in-1 Windows laptop comes equipped with a modern Intel Core Ultra 7 chip and a lot of bonuses for the price point, including a convertible Mini-LED touch screen, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage.

  • Lenovo Yoga 7 14-inch 2-in-1 with Ryzen 7 chip: $799 at Lenovo (was $1,024). This convertible Windows laptop can flip around to turn into a tablet, and it comes with a respectable AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS chip, a whopping 1TB of storage, 16GB of memory, a 14-inch touchscreen, and even a stylus.

  • Dell Alienware m16 R2 Gaming Laptop with Intel Core Ultra 9 chip: $1,299 at Dell (was $1,699). Here's one for the gamers. This 16-inch gaming laptop from Dell packs a lot for the price, with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, up to 64GB of memory, up to 2TB of storage, and a 16-inch QHD+ display.

  • Acer Aspire Go 14 Laptop: $279 at Acer (was $349). This ultra-budget laptop is a good cheap pick, and should be good for people whose work depends mostly on the cloud. It comes with an AMD Ryzen 3 7320U CPU, 128GB of storage, 8GB of memory, a 14-inch screen, and Windows 11 in S Mode. Note that S Mode laptops can only use apps from the Microsoft Store by default, although this can be changed later.

The Best Black Friday tablet deals

Not everyone needs a whole laptop. Tablets are just as valuable to plenty of techies out there, if not more so. Here are my favorite Black Friday tablet deals that are currently live.

  • Apple 11-Inch iPad Pro with M4 Chip: $899 at Best Buy (was $999). This $100 deal will snag you Apple’s top of the line iPad, which, thanks to the brand new M4 chip, is arguably more powerful the MacBook Air. Storage starts at 256GB and memory is 8GB. If you increase the storage to the 1TB mark, the savings jump up to $150.

  • Apple 13-Inch iPad Pro with M4 Chip: $1,099 at Best Buy (was $1,299). This $200 off deal on the 13-inch M4 iPad Pro is great for those who need a slightly bigger screen. Storage starts at 256GB and memory is 8GB.

  • Apple 11-Inch iPad Air with M2 Chip: $499 at Amazon (was $599). If you're OK going for an older model of Apple Silicon, you can still get an M-series iPad on sale thanks to this great deal from Amazon, which cuts $100 off an M2 iPad Air. The deal applies to the 128GB, 512GB, and 1TB models. RAM is 8GB.

  • Apple 10.2-Inch 9th Generation iPad: $199 at Best Buy (was $329). If you’re just looking for a cheap, basic tablet, you can’t do much better than the 9th Generation iPad, which is still going strong with the respectable A13 Bionic chip three years later. It won’t support Apple Intelligence, but if you’re still not sold on AI, you'll still get 3GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

  • Google Pixel Tablet: $279 at Amazon (was $399). This is Google's big attempt to revive the Android tablet, with a new user interface better equipped for a big screen, 8GB of memory, up to 256GB of storage, and an 11-inch QHD+ display. This deal applies to the Black and White colors, but doesn't include the speaker dock.

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+: $699 at Best Buy (was $999). A premium Android tablet from Samsung, this rectangle boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, 12GB of memory, 256GB of storage, a 12-inch 2,800 x 1,752 AMOLED screen, and comes with a stylus.

  • Microsoft Surface Pro 13-Inch: $899 at Best Buy (was $1,199). This pick blurs the line between a tablet and a laptop, coming equipped with Windows 11, which gives it a full desktop ecosystem of apps to explore. Plus, this particular model also has a few Copilot+ goodies thrown in. Storage is 512GB and RAM is 16GB.

The Best Black Friday deals on phones

If you're still using an old phone, Black Friday could be a great time to upgrade. Bigger deals are often limited to contracts with various mobile carriers, but there are still options to get a new phone outright.

  • iPhone 15 128GB (Unlocked): $679 at Best Buy (was $729). Apple's previous iPhone generation is still plenty capable, and while non-Pro models don't have Apple Intelligence, this 6.1-inch standard iPhone 15 is still a strong option with a 48 megapixel camera, up to 256GB of storage, and USB-C charging. Best Buy has sales across all available colors, including black (linked above), pink, and purple.

  • iPhone 15 Plus 128GB (Unlocked): $779 at Best Buy (was $829). (The link may send you to the regular iPhone 15 listing, but there's an option to toggle over to the Plus model.) The larger screen version of the iPhone 15 is also on sale. It has a 6.7-inch screen, 128GB of storage, 48 megapixel camera, and USB-C port. All available colors are on sale, including black (linked above), yellow, and green.

  • Google Pixel 8 128 GB (Unlocked): $449 at Best Buy (was $699). Google's last generation smartphone is on sale, coming with a 6.2-inch screen, a 50 megapixel camera, and up to 256GB of storage. Best Buy only seems to have the black model on sale at time of writing.

  • Google Pixel 8 Pro 128GB (Unlocked): $599 at Best Buy (was $999). Google's last generation Pixel 8 Pro currently has a $400 discount at Best Buy. This phone deal comes with up to 256GB of storage, a 50 megapixel camera, two 48 megapixel cameras, and a 6.7-inch screen. Like with the base model, the sale only seems to be for the black version for now.

  • Google Pixel 8 Pro 128GB (Unlocked): $592 at Amazon (was $999). Amazon's Pixel 8 Pro deal is actually a little bit cheaper than Best Buy's, and it applies to more colors, including Porcelain (white) and Bay (blue). However, the 256GB and 512GB versions of the phone are not on sale, and the discount on the Bay version is a little lower, putting it at $649.

  • Samsung Galaxy S24 128GB (Unlocked): $699 at Amazon (was $799). Samsung's current generation Galaxy S24 phone is currently for sale across all available colors on Amazon, including black (linked above), purple, and yellow. It comes with a 6.2-inch screen, up to 256GB of storage, a 50 megapixel camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, and Galaxy AI.

  • Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra 256GB (Unlocked): $949 at Amazon (was $1,299). This sale on Samsung's pro-level upgrade to the Galaxy S24 comes with a 6.8-inch screen, up to 512GB of storage, a 200 megapixel camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, S Pen support, and Galaxy AI. The sale is active across all available colors, including black (linked above), purple, and yellow.

The Best Black Friday TV deals

I almost never buy a TV outside of a sales event, and you shouldn't either. Keep an eye on these TV deals.

  • Samsung 55-inch The Frame TV: $897 at Amazon (was $1,497). This 4K, 120Hz QLED TV is half display, half art piece, with a glare-resistant matte screen and a built-in art mode. It's perfect if you don’t want to build your living room around a big, black rectangle. It is HDMI 2.1 compatible.

  • LG 77-inch B3 OLED TV: $1,496 at Amazon (was $1,299). OLED is still my favorite display tech out there, and if I can get on my soapbox for a moment, it's the only one that really compares to CRTs. LG makes some of the best OLED TVs around, and this big-screen model has a 4K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. There are four HDMI 2.1 inputs.

  • Hisense 100-inch U7 QLED Google TV: $1,798 at Walmart (was $2,998). This massive, 100-inch TV from Hisense won't have quite the contrast levels as an OLED, but wow, that's a lot of screen space. It can display in up to 4K and has HDMI 2.1 inputs supporting a 144Hz refresh rate, making it decent for gaming, too.

  • Amazon 65-inch Fire TV Omni Series: $369 at Amazon (was $449). Amazon's Fire TVs are a great way to get a lot of screen on a budget. This 4K QLED smart display has a 60Hz refresh rate, supports hands-free Alexa control, comes in up to 75-inches, and has various HDR options (starting at HDR10 and HLG).

  • Roku 55-inch Plus Series QLED 4K Smart TV: $439 at Best Buy (was $499). Roku is one of Amazon's biggest rivals in the budget TV category. Available in up to 75 inches, this TV is 4K, supports Dolby Vision at a lower price point than Amazon's option, has a 60Hz refresh rate, and comes with Roku's snappy operating system built in.

  • TCL 55-inch Class Q6-Series 4K Smart Google TV: $299 at Best Buy (was $449). If you're not big on Amazon's or Roku's operating systems, then a TCL TV is a good bet. This model comes in up to 98 inches, has a 4K QLED panel, support Dolby Vision, and a 60Hz native refresh rate.

The Best Black Friday Video Game Deals

Black Friday is a classic season for buying the latest video games (and video game accessories). Here are some of the best deals I've found so far.

  • PlayStation VR2: $349 at Amazon (was $549). This massive deal is so large that Amazon's website can't actually display it properly. Right now, you can get Sony's second VR headset for $250 off its launch price, which will grant PS5 owners access to Sony's PSVR 2 library (though oddly enough, not PSVR 1 titles) and PC owners a new way to play their SteamVR games.

  • Xbox Core Wireless Gaming Controller: $39 at Amazon (was $59). Almost no video game accessory is as versatile as the basic Xbox controller, which can work across a slew of devices and has a standard layout that most games recognize immediately.

  • PlayStation DualSense Wireless Controller: $54 at Amazon (was $74). PS5 controllers can be a bit more finicky to connect to other devices than Xbox controllers, but have improved greatly in this regard over the years, and come with plenty of extra haptics that might justify their higher price tag to some gamers.

  • 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth Controller: $46 at Amazon (was $69). This is a reliable third-party alternative to the official Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, with both Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz connectivity, plus motion controls, back paddles, macro compatibility, and durable Hall Effect sticks.

  • Sonic x Shadow Generations for Nintendo Switch: $37.49 at Best Buy (was $59). Sonic’s latest release, this remaster of Sonic Generations also comes with a highly regarded, brand-new campaign featuring his edgy counterpart, Shadow the Hedgehog.

  • Persona 5 Royal for Nintendo Switch: $14.99 at Best Buy (was $59). In the beloved Persona series, the player takes the helm as a “phantom thief” who literally steals hearts.

  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for Nintendo Switch: $49 at Best Buy (was $69). This sequel to the modern classic The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild once again sees players embarking on a more open world journey across Hyrule, this time wielding a magic arm that can build all sorts of wacky contraptions.

  • Dragon's Dogma 2 for Xbox/PlayStation: $39.99 at Amazon (was $69). One of my personal favorite games of this year, this sequel to the cult classic from the Xbox 360-era sees players navigating a brutal fantasy world that doesn't pull any punches.

  • Elden Ring for Xbox/PlayStation: $19 at Amazon (was $59). Another dark fantasy epic, this spiritual successor to the Dark Souls series features a narrative penned by George R.R. Martin.

  • Metaphor ReFantazio for Xbox/PlayStation: $49 at Amazon (was $69). This brand-new series from the Persona team keeps many of the same element fans of those games have become accustomed to, while also introducing light real-time combat and a fantasy world dealing with political turmoil.

  • Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for PlayStation: $39 at Best Buy (was $69). This sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake follows Cloud and friends as they venture beyond Midgard into the wider world, introducing a new slew of open-world mechanics to go alongside their much expanded journey.

  • Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition for Xbox/PlayStation: $49 at Amazon (was $79)— This critically acclaimed sequel to the cult classic Alan Wake continues the beleaguered horror writer's bizarre adventure, while also expanding on elements introduced in 2019's Control.
