Unbeaten or not, Lady Bulldogs just want the chip -- Belen 

MANILA, Philippines — As it stands, the NU Lady Bulldogs are in prime position to defend their title in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball.

Hopes are high for a second straight and third title in four years for NU, which still banners the championship core of Vange Alinsug, Alyssa Solomon, and reigning MVP Bella Belen.

But what about another undefeated season just like what they did in Season 84 back in 2022?

For Belen, it doesn't really matter so long as they win the championship.

"We're not really thinking about being unbeaten since the tournament is still far from over," said Belen, whose Lady Bulldogs stayed perfect at 4-0 after a 25-12, 25-11, 25-20 win over the UE Lady Warriors at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.

"We just want to achieve our goal this season regardless if we could do it undefeated or not," added Belen, who logged 18 points, eight digs, and six receptions for the league-leading NU.

Cliche as it may sound, Belen said that the Lady Bulldogs, under new head coach Sherwin Meneses, are just taking things one game at a time.

"We just want to reach our goal and we really don't think about being unbeaten or what because that might just give us undue pressure and we're just going to be conscious with our every move," said Belen.

"We just have to perform everyday, every game whatever we prepare in training."
