UST surges to third straight win, stops Adamson

MANILA, Philippines — The UST Golden Tigresses surged to their straight win in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament after stopping the Adamson Lady Falcons, 25-21, 20-25, 25-13, 27-25, at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.

Angge Poyos banged 21 pts on 20 attacks and one block for UST, which held off a feisty Adamson fightback in the fourth for a 3-1 record, second best behind the 3-0 NU Lady Bulldogs as of posting time.

The Lady Bulldogs are set to battle the UE Lady Warriors later.

Poyos added eight receptions and five digs to her name while Regina Jurado backstopped her with 17 points, seven digs, and seven receptions.

Shai Nitura continued her super rookie ways for Adamson, smashing 28 points plus 14 digs and 12 receptions albeit her attack error sealed the win for UST.

The Lady Falcons dropped to 2-2, good for fourth place.
